Mazovia

Tired of the city? Want to see more? There are many interesting places to go for a day (or half a day) trip for both: exploring the Polish history and culture or just relaxing.

The music and garden aficionados would enjoy a visit to Żelazowa Wola, the birthplace of Frederic Chopin. Nieborów and Arkadia park will appeal to the people interested in elegant country living and ambitious landscape creations of the aristocracy. A short stay in Łowicz is an opportunity to explore the local folklore traditions – like colourful paper cuttings. You can choose a day long excursion to see the most interesting places west of Warsaw or a shorter trip to visit Żelazowa Wola.

Treblinka is one of the places of interest located east of Warsaw. It is, however, one of the most important Holocaust memorial sites in Europe and it takes around 1,5 hour to drive there. For some ideas on what to expect there, go to the post on a visit to Treblinka. In the eastern you will also find picturesque towns and villages located along the ancient rout connecting Warsaw with Vilnus in Lithuania.
